Welcome to Brownie Bakes & Desserts!
I’m a self-taught baker and PhD candidate from the Maldives living in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. I moved to the UK for my studies in 2010 and have been here ever since! I started baking quite young, but the only thing I made were some Butterscotch Melt cookies from a kids cookbook and then I started making brownies.
I started baking cakes and decorating them properly after I started university. I was mostly making them for my housemates on their birthdays. I only started attempting layered cakes in 2016.
On 11th April 2019, two years after creating my Instagram account, I decided to change the brand a little. I got a new logo from Photo by Laurelle and I renamed my account as Brownie Bakes & Desserts. The main reason for doing this is that I bake more than just brownies!
